Creative Leadership

Since 2000, I've worked as a graphic designer, art director, and creative manager, leading several design teams in Korea and the United States. I have a strong track record of accomplishments involving creative design and marketing projects within both Korea and the United States. From non-profit organizations to corporate environments, I gained experience in coordinating and managing multiple departments through complex and multifaceted projects. 

    

My primary strength lies in my ability to comprehend and execute visual design communication skills while working within strategic frameworks. I also possess a deep understanding of the marketing aspects pertaining to graphic design and artistic direction, as well as the practical efficiency of techniques from brainstorming to production.  

I aim to leverage all aspects of my visual strategy skills in every project. For strategic planning in visual-related projects, I focus on planning and implementing communication through both visual identity and integrated marketing. Additionally, I have expertise in problem-solving and developing visually creative projects. I am always learning new ways to combine my creative and analytical thinking, further developing my keen sensibilities beyond the design market.

    

I will lead successful and optimal implementations with the highest quality creative work. I derive a great sense of accomplishment from creating, especially when I'm directing or leading a project or team. These fulfilling experiences are my driving force to provide inspiration and satisfaction within the industry.

Aug 2011 – Present

Senior Creative Manager

Rocky Mountain Natural Labs, LLC

  • Execute the development of all BtoB and BtoC visual marketing strategies and creatives, including but not limited to: email, social, on-site, print, packaging, and resources.

  • Produce high-quality visuals from concept to execution and keep up with the design trends. 

  • Manage creative team including contractors and business partners. Contribute to design critiques and work with other designers to ensure the best output.

  • Ability to take initiative, prioritize, manage workloads and meet project deadlines. Excellent problem-solving skills.

  • Constantly refine the RMNL’s brand visual language and standard across different platforms and channels. Create, manage, and own the design library, including documentation, guidelines, and related communications.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across sales, corporate communications, product development, and more. Involved with product marketing strategy from beginning to end.

  • Oversee product artwork creation, production, and quality check including managing vendors.

Art Studio Coordinator

Wingren Sculpture

  • Primarily responsible for organizing the studio database including photo slides, inventory, and archive.

  • Coordinate, prepare and conduct several annual events including but not limited to, open house, show reception, and presentation for galleries and museums.

  • Designed sculpture series catalogues and unified studio branding.

Creative Art Director

Intercambio Uniting Communities

  • Responsibilities for art directing and project management of Intercambio Uniting Communities' large-scale curriculum development. 

  • Created the new layout of the curriculum and the cover design that improved and upgraded the quality and unity of the branding identity. 

  • Direct work with the executive director and director of the national program on the project of the new curriculum development details.

Jan 2014 – Feb 2016

Senior Graphic Artist

AeroGrow International

  • Created, improved, and developed a design of printing, packaging, website design, display ads, POP kits, direct responsive emails, social media ads, catalogues, and marketing materials.

  • Created and developed brand standards and guidelines that adapted and reflected a fluid design process according to the Miracle-Gro licensor.

  • Utilizing strong organizational and management skills, built a new categorized database that provided administrative support and improved in efficiency of usage.

Jul 2011 – Jun 2013

BoxedCircle Inc.

  • Designed UI/UX graphic and wireframe flow for iPhone social applications and the company website.

  • Provided consultation and implementation of campaign strategies, tactics, design ideas, and directions to meet objectives.

  • Created designs and produced marketing materials including flyers, brochures, presentation boards, website, etc.

R&S Innovation Korea

  • Project leader of several teams working on complex, multifaceted projects ensuring creative solutions.

  • Managed and oversaw design process, including conceptualization, design plans and marketing materials which took into account emerging trends.

  • Handled budget and technical details when working with vendors and provided quality control.
